Welcome, Will You CARE With Me ?

CARE With Me is a Victorian based community volunteer program focused on working with you to support all children and young people who are in government care receive culturally suitable support. Some of the children and young people we work with can't be with their families for one reason or another and might be going through the child protection system Out-Of-Home-Care (OOHC), such as foster care or kinship care. Others might have come to Australia without their families or guardians and are placed in care until they turn 18, such as those going through the Un-Accompanied Minors (UAM) program.

Often children and young people in various government care programs lose their Cultural and Religious identity if a suitable cultural plan is not developed and implemented and that's where we come in. Learn more about us through our 'About Us' page or join our mailing list and be notified of our future events.

We would love to hear from you, feel free to give drop us an email at info@cwme.org.au or call us on 1300 829 335

By caring together, we can CARE for all children and young people

OUR GOAL FOR 2011: To Have 10 New Registered Muslim Carers.

Can you help us achieve this? Spread the word amongst your community about Out-Of-Home-Care, such as foster care and respite care, with the following message:

5 KEY MESSAGES: Care | Choice | Rights | Support | Benefits
1. Care - foster care is short term temporary care

2. Choice - you can choose the 'type' of care, age, gender, length of placement. For example, you can be a carer for 1 weekend per month for a chosen period of time.

3. Rights - you have the right to say yes or no to a placement (for whatever reasons). It’s about mutually meeting the needs of the child and yourself.

4. Support - you will have access to government financial assistance, 24 hour helpline, group sessions and events, professional training and of course ongoing support from the Care with Me team.

5. Benefits - personal growth (for you and the child); great example/teaching tool for your own children, family and friends; and countless blessings all around!
